Questions we get before every kickoff.

If you don't see yours here, write us at hello@guruboxztech.com or book a call.

Engagement & ownership
Who owns the IP we build for clients?

You do. Every line of code, every design file, every database row. We retain a worldwide non-exclusive license to use techniques and patterns we develop — never your data or your code.

What happens if Guruboxz goes out of business?

Every client gets a handoff bundle on day one: a private Git repo, a Dockerfile, an env list, and a runbook. If we vanish, your infra runs on any VPS by tomorrow morning. We don't trap people.

Can we migrate off your hosting later?

Yes — by design. We host what we build because it's faster on day one. Migration to your own cloud is a documented playbook, not a renegotiation.

Do you sign NDAs and MSAs?

Mutual NDAs by default. MSAs welcome — send yours, we'll redline within two business days.

Do you work with non-US clients?

Yes. We've shipped to clients in the UK, Canada, and Australia. EU data residency on request.

Process
What does a 'weekly demo' actually mean?

Every Friday: a 5-minute Loom walking through what shipped, what's open, and what's queued. On a live subdomain, not a localhost screenshot.

What happens if a milestone slips?

We say so on Friday with a revised landing date and the reason. We don't hide slips inside burn-down charts. Slips don't extend the contract price — that's the trade for fixed bids.

How are change requests handled?

Anything inside the original spec is included. Anything outside gets a one-line scope change with a price and a date before we touch it.

Can we add scope mid-project?

Yes — quoted as a scope change. Or we finish the original and quote Phase 2 separately. Your call.

Pricing & commercials
Why do you publish prices?

Because budget alignment is the first qualifier, not the last. Hiding price wastes everyone's first three calls.

What's not included in the listed price?

Third-party costs (Stripe fees, hosting after the launch month, paid API quotas). Substantial scope changes. Travel if you want us on site.

Do you offer payment plans?

Half on kickoff, half on launch. Some engagements split into milestone-based draws — ask.

Do you do equity-for-build deals?

Rarely. If you have a track record and the cap table to back it up, we'll consider hybrid cash-plus-equity. Pure equity is almost always wrong for both sides.

About the studio
Why no offshoring?

Because the senior engineer pitching the work needs to be the one writing it. Time-zone gaps + handoff translation costs eat margins and ship lower-quality software. We staff small and senior on purpose.

How do you stay small?

We don't grow team size to win bigger contracts. We grow product revenue instead. Studio earnings come from our own SaaS as much as client work — that lets us turn down the wrong gigs.

Why publish a public process?

Because every other agency hides theirs and uses opacity as a moat. We'd rather compete on quality of work than on mystery.
