Comparison · Hiring an agency
Brief us →Guruboxz vs. hiring an agency.
Agencies sell time. We sell shipped software. The difference matters most when something has to actually go live.
Hiring an agency wins when
- You need 6+ people on the project from day one (not just billable head-count).
- You're running an RFP with procurement attached — agencies are built to win those.
- Your spec is locked, signed in blood, and unlikely to move. Agencies are excellent at executing static specs.
- You need a global org chart on the SOW — multiple offices, account leads, project managers.
Guruboxz Tech wins when
- You want the senior engineer pitching the work to be the one writing it.
- Spec will move — and you want a partner who can move with it without a change-order war.
- You'd rather see a working subdomain on Friday than a slide deck on Monday.
- You want to own what we build — repo, infra, runbook — and migrate it later if you want.
Where we fit
Founders, ops leaders, and small teams who need a partner — not a vendor — between $9.5k and $250k of engagement value. Above that, we'll tell you to hire a real agency. Below that, you can probably do it yourself.
The pricing reality
Our published prices are real. Agencies usually quote 1.8–3× more for the same deliverable. The math: we don't carry account managers, project managers, or office leases.
